Psalms 17:1-3 MSG[1-2] Listen while I build my case, God, the most honest prayer you’ll ever hear. Show the world I’m innocent— in your heart you know I am. [3] Go ahead, examine me from inside out, surprise me in the middle of the night— You’ll find I’m just what I say I am. My words don’t run loose.

Have you ever been so sure of your innocence?
Some nights, I'm up quietly thinking about who is who in my life. I'm thinking of ways to be a better man in the eyes of God. I'm thinking of how I can be a better father to my children and a better son to my parents or a better friend to my brothers whether bound by blood or sweat.
I ask God to search my heart and tell my what I need to work on to be a better servant for His kingdom.
Then my mortal enemy appears. Remembering that I am adorned with the full armor. (Ephesians 6) I listen to the plea of the enemy. " You're too fat. You're too short. You didn't finish that project you started. You've ruined you last chance for love. "
Once I have heard enough, I unsheathe my sword.
" At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." (My personal battle Scripture) My mortal enemies flee in all directions. I begin to praise God for what and who I have opposed to what's missing in my life.
Psalms 17:8-9 MSG
[8-9] Keep your eye on me; hide me under your cool wing feathers From the wicked who are out to get me, from mortal enemies closing in.
[8] Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings [9] from the wicked who are out to destroy me, from my mortal enemies who surround me. [10] They close up their callous hearts, and their mouths speak with arrogance. [11] They have tracked me down, they now surround me, with eyes alert, to throw me to the ground.

When I wake up, I realize that my mortal enemy was defeated again. I then give God the first fruit of my day reciting, " This is a day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it."
I then look in the mirror and see the image of the most high God. The God of Jacob, David, Moses and Elijah.
Psalms 17:15 NIV
[15] As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.
